Pricetag

Today, I bought a night cream. The new skincare line I'm using is really drying out my skin (not complaining! I LOVE IT. first time in my life that I have dry skin) so I decided to purchase one. Nothing too fancy.

This cost 12.99.
I considered that pretty expensive for something you buy at Target. YES! I know there are a lot more skin products that are WAYY more expensive (I buy other skin products that are WAY more expensive)
But! 12.99 for face lotion at TARGET. That cost just as much as a brand new CD. (I wanted to buy the new Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga CD, but didn't because I needed this more)

Now because of my Project 365 I'm doing, I decided to post up this same picture ^ on my facebook. I captioned it, "trying out new night cream, it better work. freakin 13 bucks."

Someone commented, "that's cheap."

Seriously when I saw that comment I was like -___-"...

I replied back, "Well it isn't for me."

Now yes, I buy loads of things that are more expensive, POUNDS of makeup, and so much clothes and shoes that it could possibly clothe 20 girls for 3 days.

She replies, "Well I'm just saying there's other night creams that are way more expensive."

NO SHIT SHERLOCK. As someone that has well immersed herself into the cosmetic industry, I think I would know that. SURE! maybe she didn't know that I knew, except for the fact that it's all OVER my facebook. PICTURES of me doing make up, nails, and BUYING makeup.

I can SEE her side of it though. I'm only irritated, even though it may seem like I'm pissed. My point of that picture was that LOOK, this here is not a name brand like Shiseido, Clinque, or Chanel... It's called No.7 (wha?) and I bought it from Target. Something from Target shouldn't be THAT highly priced. Yes, I could have gone to Walmart. But did I? NO. Even though Target is more expensive than Walmart, it is still a super market where things should be relatively cheap and affordable for someone who doesn't want to spend that much on something.
So now there's ME in this story. I went to Target, NOT Neiman Marcus, and tried to find a cheap, GOOD night cream. If I wanted to spend money on GOOD, expensive night cream than I would have went to the mall.

It's not only her that fueled my anger. It's the fact of where she came from, because I know this girl. She has money, and I know that she can buy anything she wants. Her little sister who at the time was in 9 or 10th grade (can't recall) had THREE apple products.(WTF?)
It's people like THIS, that irritates me.

Just because you have money does not mean that the everybody else has money. Just because you think it's cheap doesn't mean I don't think it's cheap.

People need to learn the value of money. ESPECIALLY younger generations.
I have money, not loads and I surely can't buy anything I want. I work and earn my money (occasionally asking parents). I have money to buy stuff like the IPhone 4 or a REAL expensive night cream. But I don't, because there's more to life than those things. If money was just spent on random ass shit like that, what would you do in a crisis? Say for example, your car breaks down. The money you COULD have been saving could've went towards a more important issue or like if you want to go study abroad. Also, not to mention that I am a POOR ass college student. Sure I have money to buy things NOW, but what about later, when I really need it.

Okay. I've babbled on too long. Basically, I think it's just really upsetting that people throw down money like that and call things cheap when it really isn't.
